ABOUT ME
As the founder and owner of PIR Watch, LLC — a small, veteran‑owned business licensed in the state of Georgia — I bring more than 40 years of criminal investigative experience to the evaluation of luxury timepieces. My career was built on uncovering facts, analyzing evidence, and protecting people from harm and deception. Today, I apply that same discipline to watches, providing collectors with clear, evidence‑driven assessments they can trust.
My interest in timepieces began in 1981, when I purchased my first watch — a “waterproof”
Seiko Diver 6309-7049 with the black rubber strap from the Navy Exchange at NAS Pensacola while attending Naval Aircrew Candidate School. It didn't help me swim any faster, but It sure made me look like a real AW and very "cool in the pool". That watch started a lifelong passion for collecting and reflects my proud service as a U.S. Navy veteran.
After leaving the Navy, I served as:

U.S. Federal Air Marshal following the 9/11 attacks
DOJ ICITAP instructor in Iraq
Captain of Detectives Ware County Sheriff's Office
Special Deputy U.S. Marshal Court Security Officer for the Federal Courts in the Southern District of Georgia (Brunswick-Waycross Division)
Chief Investigator for the Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office
Across these many roles, I examined evidence, identified inconsistencies, and verified truth under pressure. Today, I bring that same mindset to timepiece authentication.
I’ve owned everything from a Timex to a Rolex, with a few Orients and Omegas in between. That range keeps me grounded — great watches don’t require big money, and big money doesn’t guarantee expertise.
I’m an active member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and the American Watchmakers Clockmakers Institute. When a watch requires brand-specific or movement-specific expertise, I consult trusted specialists to ensure every conclusion is accurate and defensible for my clients.
